Apex Signage has ordered the first Elitron & Canon Colorado M5W.

Apex orders Elitron: With the Elitron Spark C at drupa are Elitron export manager Valeria Perrotta and Paul Whitehead

Apex Signage has ordered the first Elitron wide-format cutting machine to be supplied by Currie Group, as part of a deal that includes a new Canon Colorado M5W.

Apex has ordered the Elitron Spark C flatbed cutter with the Colorado as a digital solution, significantly upscaling its digital print capability. It specified the end-to end solution to enable it to differentiate its print products.

Apex Signage's Nick Greally said of the Elitron Spark C, "We reviewed many digital cutters, and the Elitron stood out as a highly capable machine, and fitted our budget well. The machine will help with production work flow and increase the quality and precision of our products."

Speaking on the new Canon Colorado, Greally said, "The Canon M5W will increase our capabilities, especially with white print and speed. It will complement our existing Colorado and other existing print machinery and scale up our production output and quality."

The business, which operates out of Sydney, the Gold Coast and Melbourne, offers signage in the retail, office, construction, events and education sectors.

Paul Whitehead, ANZ sign & display business unit manager for Currie Group, said, “Apex Signage will install an end-to-end display print solution that will enable it to produce quality work quickly. Apex was also impressed with the build quality of the Elitron; this is a cutter that is built to work.”

The Spark C is designed to cut PVC, films, foams, fillings and reinforcements, Forex, Dibond, plastics, films, textiles, re-board, paper and cardboard, and corrugated cardboard.

It is equipped with a nine-zone vacuum, which provides material hold down, and is equipped with the Elitron Power Management System, which reduces the power output by up to 40 per cent, while not compromising on the material hold down.

Valeria Perrotta, export manager at Elitron, said, “We are pleased with the new partnership with Currie Group for Australia and New Zealand. It means that printer businesses, like Apex Signage, can install an Elitron system knowing it comes with the professional level of service and support they need in today’s market.”

Greally added, "Currie Group has impressed with its service to date. We look forward to working with Paul Whitehead and his team in the future as we continue to grow and invest in the latest equipment technology."
