ABG expands German manufacturing facility

to meet growing demand

Leading finishing equipment manufacturer, A B Graphic International (ABG), has announced a significant expansion of its manufacturing site in Baesweiler, Germany. Originally acquired by ABG in 2006, the Baesweiler facility currently spans 2,300m². The expansion, which began in December 2024, will nearly double the footprint to an impressive 4,400m² with the addition of a state-of-the-art custom-built facility at the same location. The move reinforces ABG’s commitment to the German market and its customers.

The Baesweiler site plays a pivotal role in ABG’s operations, producing key products such as Slitter Rewinders (SRI3), Booklet Machines, FleyeVision Camera Inspection Systems and Specialist Rewinders to name just a few. The new facility will consolidate the current warehouse, workshop and paint booth, allowing the existing space to be repurposed as a dedicated specialist demonstration centre and streamlined production zones. This strategic development effectively doubles ABG’s production floor space, enhancing its ability to meet increased customer demand.

This expansion will enable shorter production times and accommodate larger schedules. By doubling the available production footprint, ABG is well-positioned to drive growth across all departmental areas, ensuring it can continue to deliver industry-leading solutions.

“Our Baesweiler facility has been integral to our operations and customer satisfaction,” said Matt Burton, ABG’s global sales director. “This expansion underlines our dedication to the German market and our long-term strategy to invest in areas where demand for our products is strongest."

“As well as operational growth, this new development will create skilled job opportunities for the local community, whilst also offering career development for our existing workforce, aligning with ABG’s vision of combining business growth with meaningful contributions to the local economy.” Mentions Ralf Wirtz, ABG GmbH’s Managing Director.

The necessity of the expansion is amplified by the increased demand for ABG’s innovative solutions. A recent milestone includes a label group purchasing 16 FleyeVision Camera Inspection Systems, a testament to the market’s confidence in ABG’s cutting-edge technology. The enhanced capacity will further strengthen ABG’s ability to meet such demands and maintain its leadership in the field.

As ABG continues to expand its global reach, the Baesweiler facility’s growth marks an exciting new chapter in its journey. By investing in advanced infrastructure, ABG ensures it remains at the forefront of manufacturing excellence, innovation and customer service
